Children get set to take over museums across the country

On Friday 23 November, museums across England are handing over control to children as part of Takeover Day.

Directors, curators, web designers, caters and front of house staff will all be replaced by children as part of the event, orchestrated by independent charity Kids in Museums and the Children's Commissioner's initiative, to give young people the chance to experience a meaningful role within museums.

From greeting members of the public and guiding them around the museums, to creating exhibitions and putting on live performances, Takeover Day hopes to show how young people can bring real benefits to the operations and reach of museums through their ideas and approach to work.

For more information about Takeover Day and to find out which museums are taking part, please visit the Kids in Museums website.
