FACILITY USERS PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT SYMPOSIUM

Muon, neutron and light source facility users and researchers are cordially invited to the free Science Technology Facilities Council’s (STFC) Public Engagement Symposium.

The event takes place on 29 May at STFC's Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (link opens in a new window) in Oxfordshire.

The day offers all attendees a fantastic chance for both networking opportunities and professional development sessions.  The day’s programme includes a series of short, interactive workshops such as:
  • Writing science for a public audience – what works and who to work with
  • Public speaking: How to speak with confidence and impact
  • Top tips and practical ways to use new and social media
  • Talking to a public adult audience
This event will be ideal for potential collaborators, funding bodies and facility users to discuss ideas about current and future public engagement projects.

To attend please register here (link opens in a new window).

STFC are offering bursaries of up to £100 towards travel and subsistence for their early career researchers who use STFC facilities (Diamond, ISIS, CLF, ESRF and ILL) to attend.

For STFC applicants please contact Jane Butt to check that you are eligible for a bursary.
