Competition Commission publishes energy and postal services appeals rules
The Competition Commission (CC) has yesterday published procedural rules on how it will deal with appeals against certain decisions made by Ofgem and Ofcom.
The rules relating to decisions by Ofcom provide for the process the CC will follow in appeals to the CC against certain price control decisions made by Ofcom in relation to postal services under the Postal Services Act 2011.
The CC has also published guides to assist parties conducting appeals under each set of rules.
These documents—for energy: Competition Commission Energy Licence Modification Appeals Rules (CC14) and Energy Licence Modification Appeals: Competition Commission Guide (CC15) and for postal services: Competition Commission Postal Services Price Control Appeals Rules (CC16) and Postal Services Price Control Appeals: Competition Commission Guide (CC17)—are published here.
In each case the CC consulted on draft versions of the rules. The CC’s response to each consultation is published here.
