CHANGE OF AMBASSADOR AT SOFIA
Ian Soutar has been appointed Her Majesty''s Ambassador to the
Republic of Bulgaria in succession to Mr Richard Stagg who will be
transferring to a new Diplomatic Service appointment. Mr Soutar will
take up his new appointment in December 2001.

Stuart Laing has been appointed Her Majesty''s Ambassador to the
Sultanate of Oman in succession to Sir Ivan Callan KCVO who will be
retiring from the Diplomatic Service. Mr Laing will take up his new
appointment in April 2002.
