CHANGE OF AMBASSADOR TO THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT

Sir Derek Plumbly KCMG has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to Cairo in succession to Mr John Sawers CMG, who will be returning to London to take up the position of Political Director. Sir Derek Plumbly will take up his new appointment in September 2003.

Mr Sherard Cowper-Coles CMG, LVO has been appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to Riyadh in succession to Sir Derek Plumbly KCMG. Mr Cowper-Coles will take up his new appointment in October 2003.
