The Chancellor has
appointed Geoffrey Spence and David Pinto-Duschinsky to the
Council of Economic Advisers. Geoffrey and David join Andrew
Maugham as members of the Council, advising on a range of policy matters.
NOTES TO EDITORS
1. Geoffrey Spence was previously the Managing Director and Head
of Infrastructure, Europe at Allco Finance Group (July 2007 to
March 2008), Global Head of Infrastructure at HSBC (September 2004
to July 2007), and a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank (1995 to
2004). From 2002 to 2004 Geoffrey was seconded to the Treasury as
head of the Private Finance Unit.
2. David Pinto-Duschinsky was formerly a Special Adviser at the
Home Office and a Deputy Director of the Prime Minister's
Strategy Unit. Before this, David worked at McKinsey & Co.
3. Members of the Council of Economic Advisers are employed on
Special Adviser terms and work closely with the Chancellor's
Special Advisers, Catherine Macleod and Sam White, and with Will
McDonald, Special Adviser to the Chief Secretary.
