Bridgwater Tax Enquiry Centre is moving

The Bridgwater Enquiry Centre, currently based at Westgate House, North Street, Bridgwater, will close today Tuesday 1 February. It will re-open on Thursday 3 February, co-locating with Sedgemoor District Council, at Bridgwater House, King Square, Bridgwater.

Gino Nicodemi, HM Revenue & Customs’ Bridgwater Enquiry Centre Manager said:

“We are moving less than a mile across town and are pleased to be sharing facilities with Sedgemoor District Council. We look forward to welcoming people to our new location. Our opening hours remain 09:00 – 16:00, Tuesday and Thursday.”

A spokeswoman for Sedgemoor District Council said:

“Sedgemoor District Council is happy to welcome HMRC to Bridgwater House. Tax enquiry centre staff will be available in the reception area, two-days a week, providing help and advice to the public.”

The enquiry centre will continue to provide free help and advice to local people and businesses on a whole range of services including: income tax, national insurance, tax credits, the Business Payment Support Service, VAT, pensions and self assessment along with many other topics. It also offers support on how to complete forms, along with help on accessing online services. Anyone wishing to make an appointment at their local enquiry centre should pre-book through the Taxes Helpline on 0845 300 0627.

1. HMRC’s Bridgwater Enquiry Centre, Bridgwater House will be open to the public from 09:00 to 16:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from Thursday 3 February.

2. It was announced in December 2008 that HMRC would be vacating Westgate House and moving the public enquiry centre to another central Bridgwater location.
