CBI COMMENTS ON NHS FUTURE FORUM REPORT

14 Jun 2011 12:38 PM
The CBI yesterday commented on the NHS Future Forum report on proposed changes to the NHS.

Susan Anderson, CBI Director of Public Services, said:

“The healthcare system is in urgent need of reform and the Health and Social Care Bill is crucial to ensuring the NHS is well placed to meet the challenges of the future. These include an ageing population and greater demand from patients with long-term and chronic conditions.

“The report rightly recognises that the best way of delivering the high-quality services that the public expects is by allowing a diverse mix of qualified providers to deliver services, including from the private, voluntary and third sectors. Greater competition should also go hand in hand with further integration of services to ensure they better meet the needs of individual patients.”
