COMPLETED ACQUISITION BY STERICYCLE, INC OF ECOWASTE SOUTHWEST LIMITED

On 25 August 2011, the Office of Fair Trading made a reference to the Competition Commission (CC) under section 22(1) of the Enterprise Act (the Act) concerning the completed acquisition by Stericycle, Inc (Stericycle) through its subsidiary SRCL Limited (SRCL) of Ecowaste Southwest Limited (Ecowaste Southwest).

In its report, Stericycle, Inc and Ecowaste Southwest: A report on the completed acquisition by Stericycle, Inc of Ecowaste Southwest (the Report) dated 21 March 2012, the CC concluded that:

(a) the completed acquisition by Stericycle of Ecowaste Southwest has resulted in the creation of a relevant merger situation;...
