CWDC - Trainers to benefit from new disability awareness training website

The Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) is calling for all trainers in England who provide disability awareness training to register their details on a new website. 

The new website will benefit training providers by making it easier for employers from social care, social work, early years and young people's workforce to access disability awareness training locally for their staff.

All trainers in England who offer relevant training are encouraged to enter their details onto the secure site.  After registering an account and completing a simple online form, training providers can then keep their details up-to-date for customers by editing their information securely online.

The free online database will launch to employers in the children and young people's workforce in March as part of CWDC's aim to increase the skills and knowledge of practitioners working with disabled children and young people.

Peter Logan, National Programme Manager at CWDC, said:We're delighted to be developing this new resource for the workforce.   For employers, their search for suitable local training will be made much easier by a single, simple online search. Providers will benefit too as employers will come direct to them and we hope that more disability awareness training will be made available at a local level.

By using the website, employers and training providers will be helping to improve services for disabled children and young people in England.

Training providers offering disability awareness training are invited to register their training from 1 February.
