FOREIGN AND
COMMONWEALTH OFFICE News Release issued by The Government News
Network on 8 May 2008
The Foreign and
Commonwealth Office today changed its travel advice to Comoros.
We no longer advise against all travel to Anjouan and all but
essential travel to the rest of Comoros as the situation has
calmed since the election, though Anjouan remains tense. We now
advise against all but essential travel to Anjouan. The relevant
summary point now reads:
"We advise against all but essential travel to the island of
Anjouan. Following disputed elections on the island of Anjouan in
June 2007, troops invaded on 24 March 2008."
