Congestion Charge payments

26 Jul 2013 03:57 PM

Shops and petrol stations are no longer able to process Congestion Charge payments.

The change follows a recent public consultation that found only four per cent of sales were via shop payments, compared to almost 40 per cent when the scheme was first introduced 10 years ago.

The majority of customers now pay through the Congestion Charge Auto Pay method.

Removing the option to pay the charge in shops and petrol stations will also reduce the cost of operating the scheme by £600,000 a year.
