Countdown begins to final LSIS events

It’s now or never if organisations within the FE and Skills sector want to take advantage of events organised by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS).

LSIS will no longer operate after 31 July 2013 following the cessation of its funding from the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS); as a result LSIS’s services will not be available after this date.

A number of LSIS events and workshops will be available until the end of July, but practitioners who wish to attend these are being advised to book as soon as possible.
 
This is now the final opportunity to book using LSIS Accounts which can be used to secure places on many events. Anyone who wants to attend is being advised that they should make their bookings by 31 May 2013. After this date places can be booked on LSIS events, but only if they are paid by credit card, not using an LSIS Account.

Organisations are being advised to make the most of any credit remaining in their LSIS Account by ensuring that their account holder makes any bookings as soon as possible. LSIS has noted a high demand for places on events and all bookings are being dealt with on a first come, first served basis.

Forthcoming events cover issues such as safeguarding, leadership, working with disabled apprentices and understanding the Common Inspection Framework.

As our services cease on 31 July 2013, we will have been proud to honour our three priorities for the sector. These are; to equip the sector to achieve outstanding teaching and learning; to ensure the sector has excellent leadership, management and governance; and to mobilise effective and timely intervention both to avoid and resolve cases of failure.
