FDA welcomes Constitutional Reform and Governance Bill

20 Jul 2009 03:45 PM Today's publication of the Constitutional Reform and Governance Bill has been welcomed by the FDA. The FDA is the union for senior managers and professionals in the Civil Service.

FDA General Secretary Jonathan Baume said: "We welcome today's publication of the Constitutional Reform and Governance Bill, and in particular the provisions about the Civil Service which we hope will receive cross-party support.

"For many years the FDA has been part of an alliance - together with the Public Administration Select Committee, the Civil Service Commission and others - that has argued for a Civil Service Act. We will now be looking at the detail of this bill, which seeks to put the Civil Service, its core values and the Civil Service Commission onto a statutory footing."
