The proposed activities cover a wide range of areas within the FSA’s remit:
- microbiological food safety, including campylobacter, listeria and norovirus
- a range of issues related to food hygiene policy
- chemical safety of food, including inorganic contaminants, additives, novel and emerging technologies, risk assessment of mixtures
- food allergy and intolerance
- effective risk-based enforcement and compliance, including on food authenticity, internet selling of food
- diet and health related-work funded by the FSA in Scotland and Northern Ireland
- cross-cutting work in the social sciences
