FSA to contribute to new NERC research programme

The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) has just announced a new research programme on environmental microbiology and human health.

The Food Standards Agency is collaborating with NERC to offer top up funds to the call for suitable proposals which include aspects relevant to its needs in the area of aquatic microbiology related to the safety of edible shellfish.

Several areas of particular interest to the FSA are highlighted in the call documents, as well as details on how to apply via NERC.

The closing date for outline proposals is 4pm on 24 March 2014.
