This year’s finalists for the 2013 CIPD People Management Awards have been announced after judges considered a record number of entries for the Awards. With four new categories, including ones for promoting diversity and developing tomorrow’s workforce, the Awards have garnered much attention and secured participation from a broad mix of public and private sector organisations.

The Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in people management and development, as well as the impact the HR and L&D professions have on business success. A winner for each category and an overall winner will be chosen from the shortlist by our senior panel of judges. The official announcement of the winners will take place at the Awards night on 17 September, to be celebrated in London at The Hilton on Park Lane.

Peter Cheese, Chief Executive at the CIPD, commented: “I am delighted by the record number of high quality entries received for this year’s Awards and would like to thank all the organisations taking part for the excellent work they are doing in the development and management of people. Good people management and development is crucial to the success of businesses, economies and society. By sharing best practice we hope we can inspire more and more employers to do their bit to improve work and working lives.

“It was great to receive entries from a mixture of public sector and private sector employers, demonstrating the positive impact HR is having across different types of organisations. We look forward to the Awards ceremony which is always a special night and promises to be a glamorous occasion and a great networking event celebrating the best of the industry.”
