Hi

Finding Archives: take our online survey now

28 Nov 2011 03:41 PM

Tell us what you think of the archival search tools and directories available to you online by taking our short online survey.

The resources we want to hear your feedback on include the National Register of Archives, which holds information about the nature and location of manuscripts relating to British history, and the ARCHON Directory, which contains contact details for places and institutions that hold records in the UK. Other online resources include Accessions to Repositories, A2A, the Manorial Documents Register and the Hospital Records Database, all of which give information about the location and nature of collections relating to British history.

Why are we launching the survey?

We want to find out who uses these tools, how useful they are and how you would want them to work for you in the future. This information will then be used to inform any future work to improve the information, services and online access these resources offer.

This is part of a wider research project called Finding Archives. The project aims to gain a better understanding of the user requirements for our online resources which detail material held by other repositories.

How long will the survey run?

The consultation closes on Monday 12 December at 17:00, so take the online survey now. We will continue to update you on its progress and thank you for your valued feedback.
