Plans to help local authorities and transport providers work with the Welsh Government to protect communities from noise pollution have been published.

Organisations will use two documents to identify areas for possible mitigation work to reduce noise, and specific areas for protection against increases in noise.

John Griffiths, Minister for Environment and Sustainable Development, said:

“The Welsh Government is determined to do more to highlight and address the issues of excessive environmental noise that can have a real impact on the daily lives of communities, especially those living close to major transport routes.

“These documents will provide guidance to local authorities and transport operators as they work with communities to address noise issues.”
