Jonathan Taylor
has been appointed to the post of Managing Director, Financial
Services. Mr Taylor will take up this post in early January.
Jonathan Taylor is currently Chief Executive Officer of the
Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME), having
previously held the position of Director General of the London
Investment Banking Association (LIBA). From 2002 to 2005 he was a
managing director at UBS. In his earlier career as a civil servant
he worked in the Treasury in a number of capacities, including as
a director for macroeconomic policy and international finance.
From 1994 to 1998 he was the senior Treasury official in the
UK's permanent representation at the European Union.
The previous holder of this post was Tom Scholar, who is
currently the Treasury's second permanent secretary.
