Healthier hearts for the UK's Polish community

10 Oct 2011 11:45 AM

We’ve launched a new booklet specifically for the Polish community. With around two million Polish people currently living in the UK, we think it’s essential that information on heart health is made available in Polish.

‘Dbaj o zdrowe serce – Informacje dla Polaków’ is a practical resource to help Polish people look after their heart health and reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease (CVD). As well as examining the risk factors that can increase the likelihood of developing CVD, the booklet shows small lifestyle changes which can make a big difference to heart health.

Our BME Project Manager, Ali Orhan, said “Whilst information about heart disease and its risk factors is widely available throughout the UK, it’s not always easily accessible to the Polish speaking community.

"This booklet is a much needed source of information to help Polish people make the right lifestyle choices, reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease and protect their heart health”.
