IfG recommendations on government IT implemented by Cabinet Office

2 Dec 2011 02:11 PM

Following recommendations made by the Institute for Government, the Cabinet Office is looking to establish a framework contract for procuring ‘agile’ government IT.

Sir Ian Magee, Senior Fellow at the Institute and one of the authors of System Error: Fixing the flaws in Government IT, welcomed the development: “This could be a real breakthrough as we know procurement is one of the major stumbling blocks in getting agile IT projects up and running. I’m extremely pleased to see that government has kept up the pressure to increase the use made of agile techniques in line with our recommendations in System Error.”
