Training to support 1,200 front line social work supervisors and managers to develop their skills and confidence has been made available by the Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC).
Employers are being encouraged to register for the places designed for aspiring, new in post and experienced front-line managers of social workers, as well as supervisors on the CWDC Newly Qualified Social Worker and Early Professional Development programmes.
The training is designed to equip participants with the right skills and confidence to carry out their role. Registration for the training is open now and closes on October 31. It is a development of the highly-successful supervision training previously offered to NQSW and EPD supervisors.
CWDC are working with training provider INTRAC to deliver two models of training. These are:
Dr Mary Baginsky, Assistant Director at CWDC said: "This is a great opportunity for employers to support and develop skilled and confident front-line social work supervisors.
"This training will help support supervisors to exercise sound professional judgement in social work practice with children and families.
"This project supports recommendations made in the Munro Review and by the Social Work Reform Board. We are confident it will enable participants to improve their supervisory skills and organisations to make their own supervision training more sustainable."
