New Solutions Exchange pilot website launched

A Solutions Exchange pilot site: www.solutions-exchange.procurement.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/ has recently been launched by the Cabinet Office. This is a new digital service to bring together suppliers and central government procurers without the need for actual procurements. It aims to foster early-market engagement by allowing suppliers to pitch their innovative solutions to government buyers without having to wait for a specific requirement and enabling buyers to tap into the latest market thinking before running a formal tender.

The site has real-life business challenges for suppliers to respond to and more will be added during the pilot.

The first challenges include how the Identity and Passport Service could make better use of the facial images in its passport records to detect, prevent and discourage fraud; how the Cabinet Office could make better use of the data collated via Contracts Finder; and how the Government could use new and innovative ways to evaluate the impact of its communications campaigns.

This initiative is part of the Cabinet Office’s ongoing commitment to reform procurement and make it easier for suppliers to do business with Government. Please forward any feedback to adam.hill@cabinet-office.gsi.gov.uk
