Next Step has launched a new website offering free careers advice to help people make the right choices about learning and work.

An adult careers service which supports you by giving information and advice on a range of learning and work opportunities has launched a new website at direct.gov.uk/nextstep

Next Step will help you to make informed choices about which skills and courses are best suited to you. With over 400 locations across England, there are 3,000 advisers who can give help and support to adults aged 19 and over.

The website features a skills health check tool to help you identify your strengths and the skills you may wish to develop, helping you to decide what kind of courses you need in order to achieve your career goals.

You can also create a personal space called 'My Next Step' where you can save details about your qualifications, CV and personal information on your skills development.

If you are looking to improve your career and employment prospects you can choose how to access Next Step:

  • make a face-to-face appointment with careers professionals in your area
  • go online at direct.gov.uk/nextstep
  • call free on 0800 100 900 between 8am and 10pm, 7 days a week
