The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has confirmed it will not fund a new round of the £1.8m Strategic Commissioning programme – which links museums and schools – after the programme ends in March next year.

MLA staff are working with Strategic Commissioning grantees to ensure successful completion of projects within revised timescales. Project Managers are providing support and guidance on completing project reports before the DCMS deadline of 10 February 2011.

MLA would like to thank every one who has been involved on the many excellent projects that this high quality programmed has provided. Strategic Commissioning is valued highly amongst people working in the cultural and education sectors; and has helped to develop solid partnerships and increased contribution to local economies and communities.
