Responding to a report by researchers at Imperial College London about the security of NHS approved apps, techUK CEO Julian David commented:

"The research from Imperial College London reveals the potential dangers of sending unencrypted messages and data over the Internet. As the UK embraces the advantages that the online world brings to every aspect of people's lives it is vital that there is robust and reliable security applied to all messages and data transfers across the Internet. One technique that is increasingly important is the use of encryption to make messages from apps secure in transmission."
