Institute of Education signs key partnership with the International Baccalaureate

The Institute of Education has signed an important agreement with the International Baccalaureate (IB), recognising the quality of the IOE's MA awards.

This initiative will provide students on the IOE's MA Education and the MA AELM programmes with the opportunity to apply for an IB Advanced Certificate in Teaching and Learning Research or the IB Advanced Certificate in Leadership Research. These awards will aid their understanding of, and engagement, in student learning, and enhance their career development to increase their access to teaching jobs worldwide.

This agreement recognises the innovative nature and quality of the MA in Education, and the MA AELM and demonstrates that the IOE's teaching is in line with the values and methods promoted by the IB.

Dr Clare Brooks, programme director for the MA in Education said:

"We are delighted that the IB has recognised the value of the IOE's MA in Education in accordance with their awards programme. The MA in Education features students involved in both primary and secondary education, like the IB, from all around the world. The flexibility of the programme means that IB teachers can study from wherever they are based, and tailor their studies to their particular interests and professional development needs."
