Digital leadership and delivery to feature strongly at Socitm 2013

Digital leadership, the role of ‘traditional’ IT in public services, and an increasingly digital public service infrastructure, are key themes at Socitm 2013, to be held 8-10 December in London.

Services in a Digital World: Leading, Innovating, Delivering, which is being held at the Business Design Centre, London, includes a wide range of speakers:
  • Mike Bracken, Executive Director of the Government Digital Service
  • Jason Kitcat, Leader of Brighton & Hove Council
  • Dave Carter, Head of Manchester City's Digital Development Agency
  • Digital change guru Catherine Howe
  • Former Socitm President Jos Creese, who is CIO at Hampshire County Council
  • Gerry Pennell, former CIO of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG)
  • Professor John Seddon
  • Simon Parker, Director of the New Local Government Network

Presentation of topics will be via a range of formats, including plenary sessions, panel discussions, streamed sessions, and roundtables, providing plenty of time for delegates to interact with speakers and each other. An exhibition of IT and digital services will run alongside the conference.

Socitm's annual Awards Dinner, showcasing success stories in IT innovation, leadership and delivery across the public and third sectors, will be held on the evening of Monday 9 December.
