LDA RISK MANAGER WINS TOP AWARD

The London Development Agency’s Director of Risk and Assurance has won the top individual prize at the national public sector risk management award ceremony.

Dr David Hancock won the individual Risk Manager of the Year award at ALARM’s Annual Awards Dinner at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel earlier this week.

ALARM is the national forum for risk management in the public sector. Their annual National Public Sector Risk Management Awards recognise the achievement of risk managers and highlight the benefits brought to their organisations. The award is given by a panel of risk managers drawn from local authorities across the UK.

LDA Director of Risk and Assurance Dr David Hancock said:

“This award is in recognition of the complexity and breadth of risk issues that we tackle in the London Development Agency. As an organisation, we have come a long way in a short period of time. My job now is to take this further and ensure that we achieve the highest possible standards in the future.”

LDA Interim Chief Executive Peter Rogers said:

“There is no bigger award in public sector risk management and David Hancock is a worthy winner – given to him by his peers in local authorities as a recognition of the progress David has led within the LDA.”

As Director of Risk and Assurance, David Hancock is responsible for risk management and audit services throughout the London Development Agency and its partner programmes across London. He has been involved in a variety of issues from construction and infrastructure projects including Wembley Stadium, Crystal Palace and the Olympics, to childcare, tourism, health, community cohesion and worklessness in London.
