Attend an Audience focus workshop and surgery to develop your arts and culture audiences

The Arts Marketing Association and Audience Agency are hosting a programme of workshops and surgeries from November 2012 until Spring 2013 to help arts and culture organisations develop their audiences. 

This is part of a three-year programme the Arts Council has commissioned to collate, share and implement best practice in audience development and marketing across the sector.

The commission is part of Audience focus, a £7.5 million programme we are investing in until March 2015 to ensure that more people are able to experience and be inspired by arts and culture. The programme is designed to help funded organisations understand, retain and grow their audiences.

Audience development workshops

Arts professionals across the country can attend workshops taking place in late November until March 2013 to develop their skills and knowledge of best practice in:

  • audience development
  • engaging audiences for touring
  • audience research
  • strategic marketing

Arts Council-funded National Portfolio Organisations can book tickets at a discounted rate of £75 + VAT.

Practical face-to-face surgeries

In conjunction with the workshops, The Audience Agency and Arts Marketing Association are also hosting face-to-face surgeries across the country to offer bespoke advice and practical support on arts organisations' audience development plans.

The first set of surgeries takes place in Birmingham on 21 February 2013. Sessions are free for National Portfolio Organisations and can be booked online.
