CHILD SAFETY WEEK: 20th-26th JUNE

Accidents remain one of the biggest single causes of death in the UK for children, second only to cancer. On top of this, around two million children and young people visit accident and emergency departments with an unintentional injury, costing the NHS an estimated £146 million.

Child Safety Week is a community education campaign that aims to raise awareness of the number of accidents that seriously injure, disable or kill children and the steps we can take to prevent them. The theme for 2011 is 'Take a second look at safety'. By taking a second look at safety, you can help to reduce the number of needless child victims in the UK. It only takes a second! Visit www.childsafetyweek.org.uk for more info rmation.
