Scholarship opportunity for veterinary graduates

The Food Standards Agency and the Royal Veterinary College are inviting veterinary graduates to apply for a scholarship to undertake a three-year residency programme in veterinary public health. The successful candidate will receive training in all aspects of veterinary epidemiology and its application to the study of foodborne disease and food safety.

They will spend time at both the Food Standards Agency and the Royal Veterinary College and will conduct collaborative research in topics related to food safety, such as effective interventions for the control of campylobacter in chicken, the reduction of human cases of Listeria monocytogenes, the reduction of human norovirus infection from food, or the modernisation of meat inspection controls.

They will also undertake either the MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health, provided by distance learning by the Royal Veterinary College, or the MSc in Veterinary Epidemiology, provided jointly by the Royal Veterinary College and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
