NHS Confederation - Monitor and NHS England launch 2014-15 National Tariff consultation
The new NHS payment system must focus on the interests of local communities and transcend organisational boundaries, the NHS Confederation said yesterday (3 October) as Monitor and NHS England launched a consultation on the 2014-15 National Tariff.
The two organisations will take control of the NHS payment system from next year, and have yesterday outlined the rules that will govern their first year and detailed proposals for the national tariff for 2014/15.
Monitor and NHS England announced that the tariff will encourage providers and commissioners to develop local payment approaches that enable better integration so services are less fragmented and easier for patients to access.
