Want to know how the proposed Welsh Language Measure will affect you?

Heritage Minister, Alun Ffred Jones, will be holding a series of public meetings across Wales to outline the Assembly Government’s proposals for a Welsh Language Measure.

If you want to know more about how the proposed Measure will affect you or how it will deliver key Assembly Government commitments on the Welsh language, please come along.

The proposed Welsh Language Measure, published in March, details how the Assembly Government plans to meet three One Wales commitments to confirm official status for Welsh, linguistic rights in the provision of services and establish the post of Language Commissioner.

Mr Jones said:
“Understandably there has been a lot of interest in the publication of this important Measure and I am keen to meet as many people as possible to explain our proposals.”

Television presenter, Angharad Mair, will be hosting each meeting.
Events will be held on the following dates and locations:
  • 12 April – Glasdir - Conwy Rural Development Centre, Llanrwst
  • 13 April – Welsh Assembly Government office, Aberystwyth
  • 14 April - Pontyberem Hall
  • 15 April – Pontypridd Rugby Club

Light refreshments will be available from 7pm onwards and the meetings will start at 7.30pm. For more information, please contact cymraeg@wales.gsi.gov.uk
