Capability requirements and investment opportunities

The Defence Science and Technology Programme Office - capability requirements and investment opportunities - event for existing and potential suppliers
Date: Thursday, 19 July 2012

Venue: The Quadrangle Conference and Exhibition Centre, Kassam Stadium, Oxford
The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory could not fulfil its role to maximise the impact of science and technology for UK defence and security without industry (SMEs to large defence companies), academia (world-class universities and research councils) and other suppliers, bringing ideas and resources to the programme of work that needs to be delivered each year.

Already around 60 percent of the approximate £400 million MOD non-nuclear defence research programme, managed through the DST Programme Office at Dstl, goes to industry and academia to deliver - and this could increase in the next few years.

This event has been designed for Dstl's existing and potential suppliers to understand the broad picture of the MOD defence research programme and specifically how it focuses on six critical outcomes as outlined in the new government White Paper: National Security Through Technology. Presenters include Richard Brooks, Dstls new Director, Programme Office.

Delegates can also speak directly to decision makers, hear about specific aspects and programmes of work and understand how to get involved for areas including:

Delegates will also have the opportunity to speak to the Dstl commercial team and representatives from the Centre for Defence Enterprise as well as senior decision makers.

Dstl wants as many representatives of industry and academia to attend as possible. This may mean numbers from a single organisation could be restricted.
