Workforce Race Advisory Group Review

Lord Herman Ouseley has been asked by LLUK to lead on a review of the WRAG, and will be supported by Saheema Rawat. The objectives of the review are as follows:

  • To look at WRAG's impact in terms of achievements and challenges faced (real or perceived) since its inception, with reference to the recommendations of the Commission for Black Staff in Further Education ('the Commission'), feedback from Black and Minority Ethnic staff and other relevant evidence and information.
  • To look at awareness of the group and its activities at the national, regional and local level.
  • To consider whether the group is equipped to meet priorities for action in the context of changes within the further education system and equalities legislation.

The review will take place from July to October 2009. Please see the terms of reference.

A vital part of this review includes gaining feedback from providers, staff, managers and trade union stewards, finding out what people know about the group and understanding what the important issues are in relation to race equality and the sector workforce.

We would therefore like to invite you to contribute your thoughts about what support and guidance the sector needs in this important area. If you would like to share your views, please access the short online survey. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete, and your valuable input will help us to shape future support for the workforce.

The survey will close on 20 October, after which all responses will be collated and used to shape both Lord Ouseley's review and additional support for the sector.

Please see further information about the survey.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Saheema Rawat at saheemarawat@lluk.org.
