“IPCC family liaison managers continue to provide support as part of our ongoing investigation into this incident.

“Through our initial enquiries it has become clear to me that our investigation needs to be widened so we are able to examine whether the officers involved followed the correct policies and procedures when making their notes.

“We will continue to explore the events leading up to the police being called and the actions and decisions of officers who attended this incident.

“Following our witness appeal a number of people have come forward and spoken to investigators but I urge anyone who was in the vicinity of Aberdeen Park, Islington, on Tuesday, 12 March, at around 7am to contact us.
