Public Transport links to new office
As part of the office’s Green Travel Plan the Welsh Assembly Government has been working with public transport providers in the area, including Arriva Buses Wales, Express Motors Ltd, and Conwy Council to promote public transport use and encourage routes to come to the office. A dedicated accessible bus shelter has been built next to the new office and a number of services will stop there or nearby when the office opens.
During a visit to Llandudno Junction First Minister of Wales Carwyn Jones called at Arriva Buses Wales’ office in the town to find out more about the work which has been carried out.
The First Minister said:
"This new office will have an area dedicated to the public and I’m sure many will value the opportunity to travel there on public transport. We will also encourage staff to use public transport whenever possible. I know Arriva Buses Wales have been working closely with Conwy Council and the Welsh Assembly Government to allow services to be able to stop at the office. This will be a valuable link to the community."
Keith Anglesea, general manager at Arriva’s Llandudno Junction depot, said:
"We are committed to working with our local authority and Welsh Assembly Government partners to improve the Arriva network where possible. In this instance, by re-routing some of our services we hope to provide a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to the car for many local employees."
