Appointment of five Salaried Judges of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support) - Wyatt, Lazenby, Mahil, Marston and Pritchard

The Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Jack Straw MP, has appointed Paul Alexander Lazenby and Barbara Wyatt to be Salaried Part-time Judges of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support) and Pinki Jasmin Mahil, John Marston and Helen Mary Pritchard to be Salaried Judges of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber (Social Security and Child Support).

Mr Lazenby will be assigned to the Central Region and based in Oxford, working on a 60% pro rata basis, with effect from 1 October 2009 and Ms Wyatt will be assigned to the Eastern Region and based in East London, working on an 80% pro rata basis, with effect from 12 October 2009. Ms Mahil will be assigned to the North East Region and based in Newcastle, Mr Marston will be assigned to the Eastern Region and based in Central London and Mrs Pritchard will be assigned to the Central Region and based in Birmingham, all with effect from 2 November 2009.

Paul Alexander Lazenby is 45. He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1993. He was appointed as a Fee-paid Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeal Tribunals (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber) in 2002. He also sat as a Fee-paid Chairman of the Employment Tribunals (England and Wales) in 2003.

Barbara Wyatt is 50. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1995 and was appointed as a Fee-paid Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeal Tribunals (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber) in 2002.

Pinki Jasmin Mahil is 45. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1990 and was appointed as a Fee-paid Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeal Tribunals (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber) in 2001.

John Marston is 56. He was admitted as Solicitor in 1977 and was appointed as a Fee-paid Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeal Tribunals (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber) in 1999.

Helen Mary Pritchard is 47. She was admitted as a Solicitor in 1988 and was appointed as a Fee-paid Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeals Tribunal (now known as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal of the Social Entitlement Chamber) in 2001.
