 Rob Whiteman will join the IDeA as its new Managing Director in May. In the meantime, he has launched a consultation on local government improvement and the IDeA's role over the next five years.

A survey will initially go out to chief executives. This first stage of the consultation closes on 30 April 2010.

After the local elections, elected members will be consulted.

However, any elected member or council officer is welcome to participate in this first stage of the consultation by completing the survey.
