Mayor Unveils Plans to Ensure Transport for London is World Class

The Mayor yesterday unveiled his detailed five year plans to cut waste and create an affordable transport network for all Londoners. The ambitious plans show a strong commitment to modernisation and transformation through investment in digital.

Details of the five year plan include:   

  • Efficiency savings of £800m per year by 2020/21, while protecting services and investment
  • Putting a freeze on fares 
  • Increasing Tube capacity and bringing forward the extension of the Bakerloo Line
  • Investment to make London’s streets cleaner and healthier, which includes improved facilities for cyclists and introducing a cleaner London bus fleet
