LowCVP Conference, 30 June - last few days to book!

There's just a few more days to book and limited space left for the LowCVP's Annual Conference which takes place this Thursday, 30 June. The Conference will feature new thinking on automated & connected vehicles and their potential implications for cutting carbon. Find out how the UK is placed to develop and benefit from the low carbon propulsion technologies of the future and hear views on the implications for the sector following the vote for 'Brexit'.

Keynote speakers include transport minister Andrew Jones MP and the new Deputy Mayor for Transport in London, Val Shawcross. See the full agenda for the Conference which takes place at Here East (Home to the Digital Engineering and Test spoke of the UK’s Advanced Propulsion Centre) in London's Olympic Park. The event is still taking bookings but places are becoming limited.

This year's LowCVP Conference - 'A low carbon transport future: The UK capability to lead the way' - will feature:

  • The political & economic situation for the UK low carbon auto and fuels sector following the vote for ‘Brexit’, including its implications for the UK’s role in the Paris agreement & in context of the Fifth Carbon Budget.
  • How the UK is placed to develop and benefit from the low carbon propulsion technologies of the future
  • Efficient, intelligent and autonomous; how new technologies can change the outlook for transport carbon (Including the publication of a new paper from ITS-Leeds: 'Automated Vehicles: Automatically low carbon?')
  • The energy infrastructure for future mobility; how do we move to an EV-ready powergrid?
  • Future vehicles; delivering lower carbon and cleaner air & including LowCVP's key initiatives in 2016-17
  • Drinks reception in the Olympic Park and opportunity for a private view of the 'Make the Future' exhibition and the Eco-marathon competitors and venue

Delegates will also have the chance to win a ride on the new Orbit Slide - at 178m, the world’s longest tunnel slide - and experience low carbon transport powered by gravity!

Make the Future is a festival of ideas and innovation which is coming to London from 30 June to 3 July, 2016. The event supports bright energy ideas and provides a platform for innovation, collaboration and conversation about the global energy challenge.  There will be experiential activities for all ages. Through virtual reality experiences and hands-on science experiments visitors will explore what is happening now and what the future of energy might look like, from renewable energies to natural gas or low carbon technologies. Visitors will also be able to interact and play with how we can use and create energy in everyday life.

The LowCVP Conference 2016 is also held in association with the Advanced Propulsion Centre.
