The new Minister for Housing and Regeneration in Wales, Rebecca Evans AM, will be the keynote speaker at the RLA’s Future Renting Wales conference.

Rebecca is the Welsh Assembly Member for Gower, and most recently served as the Minister for Social Services and Public health, a position she held since May 2016.

When she was first elected to the National Assembly for Wales in 2011, Rebecca represented the region of mid-West Wales, and in 2014 Rebecca became the youngest member of the Welsh government when she was appointed  Deputy Minister for Farming and Food.

Future Renting Wales is a new, national one day conference for the private rented sector.

The day will be presented by BBC Wales broadcaster Lucy Owen, and chaired by Vice-Chairman and Director for Wales of the RLA, Douglas Haig.

As well as the keynote speech from Rebecca Evans, the day will also include a panel discussion with Bethan Jenkins AM, Plaid Cymru,Rhianon Passmore AM, Labour and Cllr Adrian Robson, Conservative.

RLA legal advisor David Smith will also address the conference on the implementation of the Renting Homes Act, and Anne Rowland of Rent Smart Wales will discuss the operation and future of Rent Smart Wales.

Other speakers include Leah Whitty of Cardiff Council, Dr Charles Mynors from the Law Commission, and Gordon Fox, PKF Francis Clark.

Angela Davey, Head of Lettings for Peter Alan letting agency will give an update onf the Wales letting agents fee ban, and David Richards of City Energy will also speak.
