UKAS Accreditation: a tool to support Local Authority enforcement and monitoring activities
UKAS is the sole national body recognised by Government for the accreditation, against international standards, of organisations carrying out testing, calibration, inspection and certification. In this capacity, we assess those evaluating performance, products and services in both the private and public sectors and thus work closely with Government and other key interests across society and the economy to deliver strategic objectives and benefits in line with our formal duty to act in the public interest.
