ABOUT US
The Materials Processing Institute is a not-for-profit research and innovation centre with a 75-year track record in developing new materials, processes and technologies. The Institute is a globally recognised centre for the innovation, development and commercialisation of technology for advanced materials, low carbon energy and the circular economy. This is delivered by expertise in materials science and advanced processing.

RESEARCH
The Materials Processing Institute works with the global steel and materials industries, to carry out research and innovation in Advanced Materials, Low Carbon Energy and The Circular Economy.
Research in advanced materials to understand how they can be used more efficiently and effectively and develop new and innovative materials. |
Working to reduce carbon emissions through enhanced use of energy to develop a low-carbon future globally. |
Research to reduce and minimise resource usage, waste, emissions and energy leakage through improved design, maintenance, repair, reuse, remanufacturing, refurbishing, and recycling. |
Big Data, Industrial Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality are all emerging technologies that comprise the 4th Industrial Revolution commonly referred to as Industry 4.0. |

The Institute has meeting and conference facilities ranging in capacity from 10 people to 150 people. | Developing materials and commercialising technologies for industrial processes, to improve efficiency, productivity and yield. Particular expertise in the processing of materials, especially steel and metals, and the development of new alloys. Working with a collaboration partners to deliver individual innovation projects, up to fully integrated programmes for large, multinational clients. |
