Northen Surveying Services is a Chartered Quantity Surveying Practice, based in Bristol, South West delivering projects across the UK and expert measurement services Internationally.
As a Chartered Quantity Surveying practice, we may be involved in several parts of a build, cost planning, procurement and tendering, valuations, variations and final accounts plus commercial management over the course of a project.
Northen is a specialist practice in Measurement and Quantification of construction projects. As experts in the production of detailed Bills of Quantities we can act as an Expert Witness for quantification, measurement, and valuation of construction work. Measurement works are carried out following SMM7, NRM2, CESEM4.

TRAINING
Northen Quantum is a training organisation setup by Northen Surveying Services MD Alan Northen FRICS, lead author of RICS New Rules of Measurement Volume 2 (NRM2) 2nd Edition 2021. With the purpose of training surveyors in Measurement skills, aimed at any person working in the construction industry that needs to know how to obtain accurate quantities and provide accurate descriptors in construction projects to help manage and mitigate risk.
Alan Northen, is also a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Registered Expert Witness, with more than 30 years of experience his specialism is in the quantification, measurement, and valuation of construction work. He is supporting the RICS in working groups on the NRM Suite and Practice Standard on Carbon Assessment.
