Reset & Focus! Ltd is an independent multi-disciplinary advisory practice focused on civic and civil transformation, business change, programme and project management and recovery. The company has spent much of the last 3 years working in or around the Digital Transformation agenda with DSIT (formally DCMS), UK5G (now UKTIN) and many of the leading Local and Regional Authorities across the UK. Digital enablement and exploitation are  key strategic initiatives across all layers of Government and our work often involves collaborating with them to achieve the optimum outcomes for the communities they serve.

We are also extremely well versed in the development and creation of smart cities and communities and have been engaged in numerous ‘smart’ programmes across the UK.

We have extensive links with other SME’s offering similar or complementary services (including IT Training, software development and structural engineering) and we are happy to establish SME partnerships to deliver client projects. Such partnerships, formed through shared values and complementary skills, positions us uniquely to deliver impactful and sustainable change.

Recent projects include:

  • A consultancy programme with active Local Government 5G programmes in the UK (and overseas) turning learnings into resources for a Local Authority audience to facilitate and accelerate the deployment and uptake of 5G in the UK. Outputs included perspectives on defining and executing 5G plans, commercial and procurement models, funding, and investment models.
  • Delivered assignments for BSI with:
    • DSIT (Department for Science, Innovation and Technology) as Technical Author for two Publicly Available Specifications (PAS 190 & 191) relating to the eligibility of publicly sited infrastructure to host next generation telecommunications and ‘Smart’ technologies and the design of new multifunctional columns. This was developed for the Digital Connectivity Infrastructure Accelerator (DCIA) within DSIT.
    • WM5G (West Midlands 5G) & DCMS (Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport) to understand the potential value of, and understand how best to exploit, Smart Street Infrastructure in support of the further development of the UK’s 5G test bed environment across the West Midlands on behalf of the UK.
    • A major County Council on their ADEPT SMART Places Live Labs Programme
  • An Advisory engagement with two major UK Local Authorities to design and develop a Portfolio Management capability and office for their shared ICT Service.
  • An advisory engagement with a UK Metropolitan City Council on a series of key projects:
    • A stakeholder engagement strategy to accompany the design and establishment of a Business Intelligence & analytics platform.
    • The design and delivery of new assets to underpin the operation and development of a new business intelligence & analytics platform, specifically:
      • A project selection and progression methodology and approach,
      • A new benefits realisation model incorporating a triple bottom line ROI approach,
      • A new Partnership Agreement Framework to formalise new styles of collaboration with existing and new partners and stakeholders, and
      • An opinion piece on the opportunity to exploit the use of Open Data and their business intelligence & analytics platform on both SME success and the night-time economy in the city.
