D.U.P is an independent consultancy working with public and private sector clients to help deliver their goals of Infrastructure, regeneration, building design, site development, and organisational change.
We approach every project embracing proactive engagement with our clients, their stakeholders and the multi-disciplinary team required to deliver projects.
We believe that quality projects within client budgets are achievable by creatively utilising sustainable materials and alternative construction methods .
Established in 2012, DUP is an e-collective of experienced senior built environment, organisational and environmental specialists.
About David Ubaka
David is a chartered architect and urban designer who has and expertise in strategic transport, heritage centred placemaking, urban design and operates as an expert witness at Public Inquiries in these fields. He has delivered transport, commercial, heritage, housing, sport, healthcare, and public realm projects for over 30 years. In 2012 he founded D.U.P Limited an independent Placemaking and development consultancy with offices in London and Glasgow.
He was the first Design Champion for Transport for London and was Assistant Director at Design for London, delivering design excellence into a wide range of projects including: Crossrail, West Ham Bus garage, Legible London, Windrush & Kings Cross Squares, and the Emirates Cable Car. He co-founded and was an initial board member of Urban Design London.
Also, as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation, David has sat on their urban design panel for over a decade – aiding in the creation of all Manual for Streets editions. He also chairs design review panels for several London Borough professional panels including two Community Review Panels, Network Rail, is a co-Deputy Chair of the Independent HS2 design panel. He is proud to be a member of Historic England’s Historic Places Panel and a new committee member of Cathedral Fabric Commission for England.
Placemaking
We undertake Architecture & Urban Design projects at all RIBA stages of work. Our service includes: feasibility studies, masterplanning, detailed building design, spatial policy and guidance creation. Our design experience spans across Housing, Public Realm, Healthcare, Transport, Streetscape, Heritage, Hotel, Museums, Commercial, Retail, Sports & Leisure.
Property
We actively investigate, identify, appraise and introduce development sites to our clients.
We are continuously building on a database of sites throughout the UK, Europe and Africa of various sizes for numerous uses.
People
We provide freelance and interim independent consultancy services for clients. Our experienced senior team can operate flexibly within public or private sector companies, delivering bespoke solutions as required to give clients time to either recruit a post full time or just utilise our skills and experience to deliver a specific package.
We operate our company by utilising technology effectively to allow remote working. This approach allows us to offer our clients a flexible, cost effective, bespoke and personal service.
Interpersonal communication directly with our clients to understand their particular organisation, requirements and challenges is our preferred method of working.
Whether its engagement to establish the right brief for a design project or organisational restructure, we always work for our clients by an iterative process of discussion, project planning and agreed milestones for delivery.
