Since its inception in 2006, Special Projects has been at the forefront of Site Infrastructure and Project Management solutions for events, partnering with leading Production Companies, Music Promoters, Visionary Industry Professionals and Government Agencies to deliver some of the biggest events in the world.
Led by Company Founder and Site Infrastructure Manager of the Year (TPMEA Awards, 2023), John Wilson, the company’s 7 strong core team are experts at delivering Project and Site Management for large scale outdoor festivals, stadium shows, musical concerts, opening ceremonies and unique one-off events.
Having delivered site management on stadium shows for the likes of Bruce Springsteen and AC/DC to festivals such as TRNSMT in the UK (which recently won best festival at the 2023 Live Awards) and Soundstorm in Saudi Arabia (EX Awards Silver Winner for Best Fair or Festival 2022, TPMEA Award for Outstanding Event Production of the Year 2023) as well as delivering unique Projects such as the Diriyah Oasis in Riyadh and National Days in Abu Dhabi, the Special Projects team is focused on one goal above all others – supporting you through the challenges of creating your vision.
With a proven understanding of the technical and financial requirements of site design and production, the collective experiences gained over the years has allowed the team to produce world-class infrastructure on time and within budget. Special Projects - although compact at its core - has demonstrated time after time, it has the powerful capabilities to assemble and manage high performing teams, consulting with expert resource and driving cross-collaboration to achieve optimal results.
We manage real-time issues with efficiencies, whilst making sure to implement the most appropriate solution.

With John Wilson at the helm, our core team is made up of 7 people - ranging from experts in Event Production, Site Management, Finance and Design. Additionally we work regularly with a network of over a hundred international and local freelancers, handling Site Infrastructure, Power, Plant, Logistic, Environmental and Water and Waste, without whom none of the projects we undertake would be possible. We believe that collaborative working and pooling of strengths delivers the best results for our clients, and allows us to bring in experts on a job to job basis.
